Free and Easy Travel Guide – Hong Kong

Day 1: Ladies Market

When you’re in Hong Kong, shopping and bargaining hold the key to a successful and enjoyable trip. You can get both at the Ladies Market. You can virtually buy anything and everything under the sun here – clothes for both men and women, accessories, fake goods and other curios are widely available.

Location: Get on the MTR and stop off at the Mongkok station. To get to the Ladies Market, walk along Nelson Street for two blocks.

Temple Street market

Once the day starts getting darker, it is time to hop off to another famous market in Mongkok which is the Temple Street Market. If you enjoy electronic goods then this is the place for you. Many open air hawker stalls also lend a certain flavour to this market which you would be hard put to find anywhere else.

Location: The Jordan Station on the MTR will lead you to the Temple Street Market

Day 2: Harbour City Mall.

After the hustle and bustle of the outdoors, it is time to enjoy your shopping in the cool of an air-conditioned enclave. Harbour City is Hong Kong’s largest mall and the products sold here are standard, international brands. You can also choose to rest your feet while catching up on the latest movies at Harbour City.

Tsui Hang Village

It is worth coming here because you get to munch on Hong Kong delicacies at a price which will not kill your wallet! This place is located at Miramar Shopping Center on Nathan Road.

Location: From the Tsim Tsa Chui MTR station, go through Exit A1 and you will be heading towards the mall.

Day 3: Festival Walk

You can come here to ogle at the decor which are based on feng shui principles, or to walk around the myriad of boutiques selling many different products. Either way, you will be hard pressed to find another mall in Hong Kong which is as convenient (located at the Kowloon Tong MTR station) or as interesting as this one!

Location: As previously mentioned, this amazing shopping mall is located at the Kowlong Tong MTR station.

Day 4: Causeway Bay

You can dedicate a whole day to this amazing place because it is filled with so many different places for you to shop at. Times Square happens to be the main Causeway Bay shopping mall. However, the more adventurous of you would probably love wandering around the surrounding areas and looking at the things on sale in the little curio shops scattered around. If you are interested to check out what local Hong Kong designers are up to, then head to Fashion Walk. Alternatively, if you are more interested in bargain hunting then head to Jardine’s Bazaar and Jardine’s Crescent.

Denmark Cake Shop

While at Causeway Bay, try locating Denmark Cake Shop and sample their version of the famous cheeseburger. This cake shop is on Leighton Road.

Location: You need to get on the MTR subway. Causeway Bay is on the Island line (blue).
