Benefits of Absorption Baffles

If you are planning on making your own music studio, you must consider the noise that you will make when there is a jamming session. Unless you live or your house is in the middle of nowhere, you should consider the disturbance that will annoy the people or house surrounding you. The solution is not moving house but getting absorption baffles that can be used to absorb the excessive noise from playing the musical instruments like the guitar(s), drums and everything else including the loud speakers.

There are different baffles that can be used. There are also so-called isolation booths that are basically transparent glass-like material walls that go around the musical instruments or whatever else whose noise needs to be reduced. Using these booths is perfect for individual instrument so they are more flexible and actually mobile. So, for example, you can carry these foldable booths with you if you have a session in a ballroom. You might need to use the booths to slightly reduce the noise so that it will not annoy the audience.

So, if you use drum cages, you will still hear the drums when hit but the noise or sound is reduced because of the cages. You can go for all-cover booths or cages or semi-cover ones that basically do not have a roof on the top.
